Podcast by Luke Smith about random things? Not really sure, have only listened to one episode.

S01E01 The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind

S01E02 Capitalism, Socialism and Democracy

S01E03 Albion's Seed and an Ethnic History of America

S01E04 Democracy: Rule of the NPCs

The vote of a single person is basically meaningless, effectless, useless. In some countries there is, or has been, in effect a weighted voting system, where some individuals of the population have more voting power (e.g., men's, scholars', &c votes count as more than a single vote). Representative democracy is shitty, but "pure" democracy (i.e., individuals voting directly on everything) is also dumb, because most of the population is dumb, and therefore the population will make the wrong decisions. However, studies suggest that, somehow, the "average" opinion/idea in a give subject is more or less accurate enough -- so decisions are also expected to be more or less good, that is to say, acceptable.
