Had the midterm Deutsch test this morning. Went well, was simple. After lunch had to do an errand for my 日本語の先生, and later was free. My Master's studying is lagging a bit, but my brain wasn't up to it today (been writing about this; will maybe publish it some day in the near future).

The weather was nice, it's been raining almost non-stop till around the end of last week, but since the weekend the sun has been out. So instead I went to one of the most touristy places in the city, and I stolled like a tourist -- looking around as if I'd never seen it before. I could take my time because I was alone. And I did take my time -- a walk that should normally take me ~1h took almost ~3h.

It's a nice place, has lots of green -- some really old trees, lots of moss and lichens. To top it off, because it's a day of the week, the usual multitude wasn't around, it was quiet, real nice.

One thing stood out: so many mushrooms! Counted 4 or 5 different species (basically guessing, mushrooms are so hard to identify...). And in so many spots I would never expect to see them! Not because they're unusual spots to find mushrooms, but because I've been there and through there so many times in the past, throughout my whole life, and yet I never noticed them. I must've been seeing but not looking. It was a good surprise.
